Application Developer

The Application Developer is responsible for the successful deployment of new Web applications, reports, and other technology solutions for the Services Group. This posi-tion will require a sense of urgency and ownership to drive projects to completion for our Partners. This position also requires the ability to work effectively with internal staff to develop and document well-written and well-defined technical requirements to formulate a conceptual design that is appropriate and cost effective for our Partners. Supports other IT related projects as requested by the Director of Technology.

Facilitates Engine Installs for the Services Group:

• Creates prototypes for client engagements

• Create new Web-based applications

• Update existing system designs and workflow documents using automated tools

• Design, document, create, and optimize simple to moderately complex database schemas

• Develop and enhance applications using PHP for partners

• Test applications that have been developed by internal and external staff and perform other applications for developmental duties

• Perform technical troubleshooting and provide recommendations to manage-ment

• Performs day-to-day maintenance of Web content

• Creates links to Web pages

• Updates websites in real time

• Develops Macromedia Flash sites, animations, and applications

• Assists team members with LAMP set up, modifications, and installs

• Identifies system deficiencies and recommends solutions

• Provides conclusive data to assist in establishing “Best Practices”

• Communicates factors critical to the success of the department, the company, our clients, and individual team members

• Accomplishes delegated tasks important to the success of the team

• Prepares for meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Solid understanding of software development and the software development life-cycle

• Ability to translate business requirements into clear software specifications and design requirements and make sure applications are working properly.

• The ability to adapt well to changing business conditions, new ways of thinking, or new technology paradigms across a variety of functional groups and situations.

• Strong experience in reading and building technical/functional design require-ments

• Proficiency in Dreamweaver, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and current Web devel-opment standards and tools

• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, graphic design, and photo editing techniques

• Experience with Macromedia Flash sites, animations, and applications

• Experienced with various open source support systems, including Joomla, Atutor, and SugarCRM

• Demonstrated basic proficiency with Web based application technologies, including PHP, AJAX, Flash, JavaScript, and MySQL

• Web video compression and delivery experience

• Experience with and practical knowledge of industry email marketing systems and software

• Understanding of electronic encryption technologies for Internet and electronic commerce

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A Master's degree in Information Systems Technology or related field

 

OR

 

Bachelor's degree in Information technology with five years’ experience in business-to-business, Internet, or trade
